Lisa Barr (Psychologist)
Overview
Lisa is a registered psychologist in private practice with experience working across a range of sectors including NGO, Te Whatu Ora, Ministry of Justice, and healthcare and disability sectors. She has a special interest and expertise in child and family issues, particularly in the context of separation and divorce.
Skills and Experience
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Masters in Education, and Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board in the General Scope of Practice.
Lisa draws on several evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She is trained in the delivery of parenting programs such as Triple P and Tuning into teens.
Lisa holds an annual practicing certificate and is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society (NZPS); Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing New Zealand (EMDRNZ); Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).
